Ingredients

1 pound cremini mushrooms, finely chopped

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 teaspoon soy sauce

½ teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

12 slider buns (white or whole grain)

8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Sauté Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the diced onions and cook until they become translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Cook Mushrooms: Add the finely chopped mushrooms to the skillet. Stir well and cook for about 8-10 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and their moisture has evaporated.

Season: Pour in the soy sauce and sprinkle in the dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything well and let it cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare Buns: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half and place them on a baking sheet, cut side up.

Assemble Sliders: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the cut side of each bun. Divide the mushroom mixture evenly among the bottom halves of the buns, then top each with a slice of Swiss cheese.

Top with Buns: Place the top halves of the buns on each slider.

Melt Cheese: Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for about 10 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy these savory treats warm!
