Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Start by cleaning the shrimp and trimming the asparagus. Prepare minced garlic and measure out the butter and red pepper flakes.

Cook the Asparagus: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the asparagus pieces and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Remove asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic is fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.

Add Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high, then add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 3–4 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

Combine and Finish: Return the sautéed asparagus to the skillet with the shrimp. Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir everything together. Cook for an additional minute, ensuring all ingredients are nicely combined and heated.

Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for garnish. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
