Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup medium cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup uncooked jasmine rice

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt to taste

Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if there's too much.

Add Garlic and Spices: Stir in the minced garlic, paprika, and black pepper, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.

Incorporate Rice and Broth: Mix in the uncooked jasmine rice, beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine everything thoroughly.

Add Broccoli: Gently fold in the broccoli florets. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Cheesy Finish: Once the rice is cooked, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the skillet. Cover again for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Serve: Fluff the mixture gently with a fork to mix in the cheese. Add salt to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious one-pan meal!
