1 cup button mushrooms, finely chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

½ cup breadcrumbs

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

12 slider buns (mini burger buns)

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Optional: 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a spicy kick)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Sauté the Mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they release their moisture and become golden brown.

      Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic, fresh thyme, and season with salt and pepper. Continue to sauté for another 2-3 minutes, until fragrant. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

        Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed mushroom mixture, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. If you like a bit of heat, stir in the red pepper flakes. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.

          Shape the Bites: Using your hands, form small patties (about 1.5 inches in diameter) with the mushroom mixture. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between each slider.
