Ingredients

For the Chicken:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 slices of ham (preferably smoked)

4 slices of Swiss cheese

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying

For the Sliders:

12 slider buns

½ cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Lettuce leaves (optional)

Pickles (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Chicken:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create thin cutlets. You should get about 4 cutlets per breast.

        - Cover each piece with plastic wrap and pound gently with a meat mallet until they are even in thickness (about ¼ inch thick).

          Assemble the Cordon Bleu:

            - Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken cutlet.

              - Carefully roll the chicken from the edge over the ham and cheese, securing it tightly. Use toothpicks to hold the rolls together if necessary.

                Coat the Chicken Rolls:

                  - Set up a breading station: place flour seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl; beaten eggs in another; and panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

                    - Roll each chicken roll first in flour, tapping off the excess.

                      - Dip in egg, allowing it to drip off, and finally coat in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

                        Fry the Chicken Rolls:

                          - In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken rolls (working in batches if necessary). Fry each side until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes total.

                            - Once cooked, remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

                              Assemble the Sliders:

                                - In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey (if using).

                                  - Slice the slider buns in half and spread a generous amount of the mayo mixture on both sides.

                                    - Place a fried chicken roll on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce and pickles if desired.

                                      - Cover with the top half of the bun.

                                        Bake (Optional):

                                          - For added warmth and to melt the cheese a bit more, you can place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes in the preheated oven until warmed through.

                                            Serve:

                                              - Remove toothpicks if used and serve the sliders warm for the best experience. Enjoy your sliders with additional sides like fries or a fresh salad!
