Crispy BBQ Chicken Pizza Rolls

Ingredients
  

2 cups cooked shredded chicken

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup diced red onion

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 package of pre-made pizza dough (or puff pastry)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Olive oil (for brushing)

Optional: Sliced jalapeños for heat

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, diced red onion, cilantro, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

      Roll Out the Dough: If you are using pre-made pizza dough, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness. If using puff pastry, roll out according to package instructions.

        Cut into Squares: Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into approximately 3x3 inch squares.

          Fill and Roll: Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the BBQ chicken mixture in the center of each dough square. Be careful not to overfill. Fold the corners of the square up over the filling, pinching to seal, or roll them tightly to form a closed roll.

            Prepare for Baking: Place the pizza rolls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each roll. This will help create a crispy golden crust.

              Add Olive Oil: Lightly drizzle or brush olive oil over the rolls for extra crispiness, if desired.

                Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.

                  Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
