Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 cup salsa (preferably mild or medium based on preference)

1/2 cup sour cream

1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles, drained

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather and measure all the ingredients to streamline your cooking process.

Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Use a hand mixer for a smooth consistency if available.

Add the Chicken: Fold in the cooked chicken until well distributed throughout the cream cheese mixture.

Incorporate the Cheeses: Gradually mix in the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, reserving about 1/4 cup of the cheddar cheese for topping.

Spice It Up: Add the diced green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together until fully combined.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a baking dish (about 8x8 inches) and spread evenly. Top with the reserved cheddar cheese.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro on top before serving. Enjoy with tortilla chips for dipping!
